Average life expectancy has increased, and although we are living longer, we must ensure that we live those years with Quality and Dignity.
This longevity is one of humanity’s greatest achievements, but also one of its greatest challenges: we don’t just want to live longer, we want to live better!
Today, we need widely available tools and methodologies that make health and comfort accessible to everyone. We must promote independence, support caregivers, and improve the quality of care.
Innovation and technology play a fundamental role in addressing the challenges posed by aging, as they have the potential to make care more efficient, accessible, and personalized. Despite these advantages, there is one thing technology will never be able to replace: Humanity.
Care is, at its core, a human act based on empathy, closeness, and affection, and no matter how much society evolves, the most important thing throughout the long years we may live remains the other, the people around us. Those who take care of us and the ones we take care of.
Technology is a valuable tool that solves problems, helps with time management, simplifies processes, and allows us to focus on what no machine can offer: presence, listening, and attention. Because in this relationship between the Caregiver and the care recipient, we must never fail to consider the needs and challenges faced by both sides.
Against the backdrop of an aging population and constant pressure on Healthcare and Social Support systems, it is increasingly important and urgent to build sustainable care models where technology complements, but never replaces, the human dimension. Professionals, informal caregivers, and families must feel part of a support network that protects them, and, consequently, protects those in need of care.
With this in mind, we chose the theme for the next edition of “Conversations With Impact” and invited speakers with diverse experiences and perspectives to discuss the role that Technology and Innovation can play in today’s Care System and how we, as a society, can respond to current and future challenges in a way that is accessible and inclusive for everyone.
