We can say that Rise For Impact is one of our masterpieces. Five years after the birth of Casa do Impacto as an Innovation Hub, we conclude the 5th edition of this Capacity-Building program dedicated to Social Sustainability solutions, initially baptized as PAES and the cornerstone of our title as Leading Start-Up Hub by the Financial Times and Statista, awarded for the quality of our Incubation and Acceleration programs (as our Entrepreneurs say!).

We close this edition with the certainty that we want to fill several hands with innovative solutions that promise a better future. We are daily surprised and constantly challenged to raise the bar and expect more, bigger, and better. The habit compels us to do so.

Despite the projects, the real differentiating factor is always the people, the will and motivation to transform the world and create positive Impact. Every year they come to us from various places, often from outside the world of Entrepreneurship, sometimes through informal conversations with Entrepreneur friends, others from alumni who have already experienced this in past editions, some even come from Rua da Rosa, Rua Luísa Todi, or even from the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara, because they see us and want to make our House theirs. And we remain with (not) open doors for them.

Nine months after entering Casa do Impacto, no one is a stranger anymore, and everyone belongs here. Those who have gone to other places and those who have reached the end of this journey. Some even reserved a place for later.

Nine months later, we have a podium of which we are very proud:

1st place – UNE.IDADES (Inês Schmidt and Leonor Serzedelo): They commit to addressing two social issues: loneliness and social isolation of seniors and the lack of housing for university students. The proposed platform connects both audiences in the same physical space through a house-sharing model. This model aims to improve the quality of life for seniors and combat loneliness while ensuring that young people have more affordable, safe, and comfortable housing options. Sharing the space also fosters the exchange of experiences, stories, personalities, and experiences in a harmonious, supportive, collaborative, and safe coexistence, made possible through constant personalized support.

UNE.IDADES receives €3,000, Incubation, and Mentorship at Casa do Impacto.

2nd place – TAIP (Onė Maldžiūnaitė and Sofia Kendall): TAIP is a brand of reusable underwear for women with light urine leaks or moderate urinary incontinence, presented as a sustainable and dignified alternative to disposable products. Visually identical to regular underwear, TAIP’s products promise to be comfortable, thanks to the natural fabrics they are made from, such as bamboo viscose, and discreet. Each of the two underwear models they offer has an absorbent layer with different levels of absorption to meet distinct needs. Alongside the product sale, TAIP also aims to build a united Community that openly shares its questions on the topic, counteracting the shame and stigma normally associated with it.

TAIP receives €2,000, Incubation, and Mentorship at Casa do Impacto.

3rd place – Nula (André Spencer, Maria Antunes and Rui Catalão): Nula tackles the growing problem of food waste by promoting literacy on the topic and consequently altering individual habits. Its online platform, modeled as a school, offers Masterclasses that continuously educate about food waste and related topics such as composting, fermentations, etc. Additionally, the platform serves as a food dictionary that users can consult, where they can find detailed information on cooking techniques, preservation methods, ideal combinations, environmental footprint, reference shelf life, nutritional profile, and recipe suggestions.

Nula receives €1,000, Incubation, and Mentorship at Casa do Impacto.

Congratulations to this highly distinctive podium with so much potential.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the Partners and Mentors for their dedicated support and professionalism, which we have come to rely on over the years!

We also cannot fail to mention the fourth place on the podium, the project that we just couldn’t let go and we kept with us with an Honorable Mention and a year of Incubation at Casa do Impacto, Equivalence (Anabell Mora Acevedo e Daniela Hernández Sanabria) continues to be here, and we have been paying close attention!

Each year, we highlight the willingness of our Entrepreneurs to learn, the generosity and mutual support among Teams, and their active pursuit of contacts, initiatives, and events that add value. Every year is already many years. And we want more!
