One of the selected projects in the 1st edition of investment was Mentora Health, the first Portuguese app developed especially for cancer patients. This application works as a digital assistant that allows the recording and monitoring of symptoms and adverse effects to cancer treatments, contributing to better understanding and management of the disease.
About the solution launch in 2020, CEO Nuno Gato highlighted on Medium: “Mentora Health was created to fill many of the existing gaps in the care of cancer patients. With this project, we wanted to improve the quality of life and, whenever possible, to increase patient survival. In addition, we aim to positively impact the life of each patient, their family environment and the physical, psychological, social and economic well-being of both the cancer patient and their caregivers”.
In April of this year, in an article for the Observer, Casa do Impacto emphasized the importance of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Quality Health) and of innovation dedicated to the area of health in a world where more than 400 million people do not have access to primary care. In this article, Mentora Health was one of the highlighted projects.
