We are always learning. Regardless of our age, we remain permeable to acquiring knowledge and educating ourselves, naturally willing to test and experiment in a constant trial-and-error that runs throughout our lives. Not always in a conventional way or within the Educational System as we know it, but always with a willingness to experiment with innovative methodologies and new tools put into practice by the hungry spirit of those who want to learn more.
At Casa do Impacto, we believe that Education, Teaching, and Training are essential to keep pace with the times and move Society forward together. Society changes, people change, and power relations change, but the age-old need to find balance in the world remains, ensuring that the differences in access to goods and rights, such as Education, are getting smaller and that we can all effectively reach a level of Equity that guarantees that, if “Knowledge is Power”, it belongs to everyone.
Impact on Education has been essential in creating various paths, conventional or not, to guarantee free access to more knowledge and ongoing training in different areas and disciplines. From promoting Citizenship and Civic Participation, as MyPolis does, Education for Technology, Informatics, and Programming as Code For All, and ubbu promote; the development of technical skills without code, as you can learn at the NoCode Institute or even facilitating the learning of the classic subjects that we all know, such as Mathematics or Portuguese, which Class of Wonders makes more fun and engaging through gamification. All these projects share a common trait: their flexibility and ability to adapt constantly. They closely observe their audiences, whether they are children, young people, or adults, and recognize in them the most significant source of self-knowledge for constantly updating their teaching proposals. The needs of the public are continually changing and require constant adaptation of the modus operandi of each Education Organization and Institution. Education can never be unilateral and requires a close look at those who benefit from it. Those who have to learn can also teach.
At Casa do Impacto, we believe in Reverse Mentoring and in the power that motivated Young People, given the space to create, can have in the world. That’s why we’re back with our “Conversations with Impact” Cycle, this time focusing on the theme of Education and how Young People, given the opportunity and responsibility, can take on the role of Agents of Change with real transformative power.
Once again, we aim to bring together professionals in the field to discuss this complex issue, which doesn’t always require definitive answers. Life experiences and real-life testimonies are truly inspiring and have the power to unlock new perspectives and valuable visions for the future. Because they are so different, they illustrate the numerous possibilities and all the right paths.
We will bring together Experts, Educators, Entrepreneurs, and Young Leaders to discuss trends and innovations in the areas of Education and Youth. The debate will focus on how new approaches and technologies can transform Education and empower Young People to face the challenges of the future. A future that belongs to everyone, and therefore, everyone has a say in building it.
Will you join us on July 9 at Casa do Impacto to talk to Impacto about “Future Generation: Young People who Transform”?
