The search for The Earthshot Prize winners has begun, and Casa do Impacto is proud to be an Official Nominator. Released in October 2020 by Prince William and The Royal Foundation, The Earthshot Prize is the most prestigious global environmental award in history, intending to find new solutions to the world’s biggest environmental problems.
As an Official Nominator, Casa do Impacto integrates a group of organizations from all over the world, invited to send nominations for the five categories of the award. The Portuguese hub was selected for its ability to identify the most impactful solutions in all areas and sectors as for being a space where many public and private entities converge.
Until February 20, Casa do Impacto will have an OPEN CALL open to find the best solutions to nominate. We are looking for individuals, communities, companies and organizations whose innovative solutions advance the achievement of the five Earthshots – formulated but ambitious categories that, if achieved by 2030, will improve the lives of all of us and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
The Earthshot Prize will consider solutions that make tangible progress towards one of the five Earthshots listed below. Candidate solutions must be beyond the ideation stage, have tested their solution in the field or with target audiences, and be at a “tipping point” to scale their impact over the next five years.

- Clean our Air
- Revive our Oceans
- Build a Waste-Free World
- Fix our Climate

With the OPEN CALL closing on February 20, Casa do Impacto will select the nominated solutions and announce them through official channels. The nominated solutions will go through a rigorous evaluation process from that moment, which will climb into five winners in the last quarter of the year.
Through this process, both finalists and winners get a fantastic platform to scale up their work, as well as personalized support from The Earthshot Prize and its network of NGOs, businesses, governments, funders and expert mentors. The five winners also receive a £1 million prize to scale their impact.
