Casa do Impacto, from Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, is joined by Grupo Ageas Portugal and the Ageas Foundation to launch the 8th edition of the Santa Casa Challenge. The investment contest has a new format with training sessions, specialist technical mentoring, financial support and two years of incubation in the most significant portuguese impact entrepreneurship hub.
The Santa Casa Challenge (SCC) is the investment contest promoted by Casa do Impacto that rewards innovative technological solutions. These solutions must originate devices, applications, digital content, and web or communication services linked to an annual challenge, per edition, related to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Organization.
The new edition of the initiative has OPEN CALL open until February 28, 2023, to receive applications from entrepreneurs creating new technology-based solutions in ageing and longevity.
The SCML hub and the initiative’s partners intend to deepen the impact in this new edition. Therefore, in addition to financial support, a program was structured with a vital component of non-financial support that will include training sessions, masterclasses, and specialized mentoring with the help of Ageas Portugal Group and the Ageas Portugal Foundation.
The new Santa Casa Challenge seeks solutions to three challenges:
- Ageing in the right place
- Social connection & engagement
- Taking Care of Caregivers
Applications will be open on the Casa do Impacto website until February 28, 2023. After that, project training will take place in March, and the two-year incubation will begin in April 2023.
What are the prizes?
The three winners (1 for each challenge) will receive €5,000/each for the first steps in developing the project. In addition, these winners will also receive two years of incubation at Casa do Impacto with access to non-financial support and monthly monitoring by the program team, passage through other Casa do Impacto programs and initiatives, and an Alpha Pack for the Web Summit 2023.
