The search for the winners of The Earthshot Prize has already begun, and Casa do Impacto is proud to be an Official Nominator. This year, we celebrate three editions since Prince William and The Royal Foundation created The Earthshot Prize, the most prestigious environmental prize in history, to find new solutions to the world’s biggest environmental problems.

Climate issues cut across the globe, and, with this in mind, it is very pertinent that organizations from all over the world take on the role of official nominators for the prize. It’s an excellent opportunity to bring to the stage projects focused on localized issues that can adapt to any territory.

Casa do Impacto is once again one of the organizations invited to nominate for the different categories. We take this commitment seriously and recognize that our contribution adds value to the process. Over the years we’ve been working with Impacto, we’ve gotten to know the Ecosystem in which we live in-depth and identified the most impactful solutions in all areas and sectors.

It’s the third year we’ve been looking for individuals, communities, companies, and organizations whose innovative solutions promote the achievement of the five Earthshots – formulated but ambitious categories that, if achieved by 2030, will improve the lives of all of us and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.

We’ve opened an OPEN CALL for today’s best environmental solutions nominations. You have until December 10 to submit yours!

Throughout the process, Casa do Impacto will assess the submissions’ eligibility and decide whether our Hub can nominate them. After this step, and if selected by CI, the project’s point of contact will receive an email from the Earthshot Prize platform requesting additional information (which was already included in our form). This step must be completed on the platform by December 14. Casa do Impacto will validate this content and confirm the nomination on the official platform by December 15.

From there, the solutions will undergo a rigorous evaluation process, culminating in selecting the five winners in the last quarter of the year.

Through this process, both the finalists and the winners will have access to a fantastic platform to scale up their work and personalized support from The Earthshot Prize and its network of NGOs, companies, governments, funders, and expert mentors. The five winners also receive a prize of one million pounds to scale their impact.

These are the four steps to apply for the million pounds and the title of Earthshot:

• > Submission of nominations | December 10;
• > Verification of eligibility of applications and eligibility of nominations;
• > Completion of information (already provided in the context of the initial submission) by the Earthshot Prize organization | December 14;
• > Validation and confirmation of nominations | December 15.
