After two weeks of training at Casa do Impacto, 10 impact startups addressing the challenges of aging presented their solutions in a demoday that concluded another edition of the Santa Casa Challenge programme, this year with a new format and a strategic partnership with the Grupo Ageas Portugal and the Ageas Portugal Foundation. Scan4MyHealth, Dem.Well and Careceiver won the 8th edition of the initiative.

The Santa Casa Challenge (SCC) is a contest promoted by Casa do Impacto da Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML) that in the last 8 editions, since 2016, has awarded innovative technological solutions that give rise to devices, applications, digital content, services web or communication, linked to an annual challenge, per edition, related to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Organization.

The last edition of the initiative had the participation of ten impactful projects and a new format: wish included access to training, specialized mentoring, masterclasses with specialists from our community for innovative projects that are creating new technology-based solutions in the areas of aging and longevity, with the support and sharing of knowledge from program partners.

The jury comprised Inês Bastos, Director of the Social Innovation and Knowledge Transfer Unit at DEES/SCML; André Moreira, Head of Operations and Partnership Development Manager at 55+; Paula Guimarães, Coordinator of the IPAV Informal Caregivers project; João Machado, Chairman of the Ageas Foundation Board of Directors; and Bruno Vaz, Program Manager – Aging, Longevity & Silver Economy of Grupo Ageas Portugal had the difficult task of selecting the 3 winning projects.
